Welcome

  • Welcome to our home on the web! It is our hope that this will be a place where you can stop in and catch a glimpse of God at work in us, around us, and through us as we journey with God in Stockholm, Sweden. So come along with us and hopefully we can help encourage each other in this journey toward God and His Kingdom. Coram Deo!

Quote(s) to note

  • Jack Handy
"If God dwells in us like some people say, I sure hope He likes enchiladas, because that's what He's getting."
  • Renovare Study Bible on Job
"Job found that life is a mystery that can be faced only by trust in and reliance upon God. And this mystery eludes the easy answers of his companions and even his own best explanations. It defies Job's reason and shatters the boundaries of his understanding-as it does our own."

Fun with friends

Today it is a balmy 53 degrees F! After months of gray days, the sun is shining again and it feels as if Spring is finally on its way. Crocuses are popping up everywhere. We made it through our first winter here and have acutely, almost achingly, felt the Swedes' longing for days full of the sun! And now, it's finally here again. Not only that, it seems to be returning as swiftly as it left. The sunrise now is full by 5:30 AM and it isn't fully dark until after 8:00 PM. But, before it seems altogether inappropriate, I thought I would post a photo of the girls' day of fun with friends just last week.

During Easter break, we had a nice snowfall (hopefully our last!) and Abigail and Caroline invited some friends from school (a girl from China and another from Bulgaria) to come over for a day of play in the snow. Here's the snow family they created together.

Why we're here

  • It is not ourselves that we proclaim; we proclaim Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake. For the same God who said, "Out of darkness let light shine," has caused his light to shine within us, to give the light of the revelation--the revelation of the glory of God in the face of Christ.--St. Paul, 2 Corinthians 4:5,6
